In the SCP Foundation, there is an object designated as SCP-087, also known as the "Staircase." It is a seemingly endless staircase located in an undisclosed building. Those who descend the staircase report hearing strange sounds and seeing unexplained phenomena.

One day, a new researcher at the SCP Foundation was tasked with investigating SCP-087. The researcher, named Karen, was excited to be given such an important assignment but was also nervous about what she might find.

Karen descended the staircase, and as she went deeper, the sounds grew louder and more ominous. She heard whispers, footsteps, and even screams. But she kept going, determined to uncover the truth.

Finally, after what felt like hours, she reached the bottom of the staircase. There, she found a door with no handle. She pushed on the door, and it opened, revealing a small room.

Inside the room was a creature that Karen had never seen before. It was humanoid but had long, spindly arms and legs and a face that was contorted into an expression of pure terror.

Karen tried to back away, but the creature lunged at her, and she fell to the ground. Just as she thought the creature was going to attack her, it disappeared.

Karen quickly ascended the staircase and reported her findings to her superiors. The SCP Foundation now has a better understanding of SCP-087, but the incident left Karen traumatized, and she decided to leave the Foundation.
